How Much Harm Can People Do To Us ? (Matthew 10:28-31)

My friends, how much harm can people do to us? They can inflict pain, suffering, and death. ” But think about it my friends;” No person can rob us of our souls or our future beyond this life. But how much harm can we do to our selves? The worst thing we can do is to reject God, His Word, and lose our eternal future. Jesus said,”fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul.” (Matthew 10:28). Instead, we should fear God, who controls this life and the next. Even in our deepest sorrow, God cares! Jesus reminded us further of how much God understands us-He knows even the number of hairs on our heads (Matthew 10:30). Often we waver between faith and fear. May friends, when you feel so discouraged that you are sure no one understands, remember that God knows every problem and sees every tear. Jesus said that God is aware of everything that happens even to sparrows, and you are far more valuable to Him than they are. Infact, you are so valuable that God sent His only Son to die for you (John 3:16). And because He places such value on you, you need never fear personal threats or difficult trials. These cannot shake God’s love or dislodge His Spirit from within you. But this doesn’t mean God will take away all your troubles (read Matthew 10:16). Because the real test of value (your and mine), is how well something holds up under the wear, and tear, and abuse of everyday life. God’s way of living usually contradicts the world’s. If you want to live for God you must be ready to say and do what seems strange to the world. You must be willing to give when others take, to love when others hate, to help when others abuse. By giving up your own rights in order to serve others, you will one day receive everything God has in store for you. But remember, those who stand up for Jesus Christ in spite of their troubles truly have lasting value and will receive great rewards (Matthew 5:11-12). Think About It My Friends, Think About It……………………
