ENVY IS A KILLER!

Think About It My Friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ENVY IS A KILLER! (Proverbs 27:4 says, Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?) Have you ever found yourself resenting, or unrighteously judging someone, because you did not have the faith, courage, self-discipline, or even opportunity to pursue your own goals in life? If your answer is yes to the last question, you are imprisoned by Envy. And Envy is a killer. But I don’t murder people, you my say: good, that fulfills the letter of the law. But Jesus explained, in Matthew 5:21-22, that hateful anger breaks this commandment. The reference to killing is clearly understood in its context in both the Old and New Testament as referring to an act of murder. Jesus goes beyond this outward demand of the law by stating that “whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause” is in just as great danger of judgment as a murder, for anger is the the emotion and inner intention that leads to murder. Think about it my friends: Have you ever been so angry with someone who mistreated you that for a moment you wished that person were dead? Have you ever fantasized that you could do someone in? Jesus teaching concerning this law demonstrates that we are capable of murder in our hearts. Even if we are legally innocent, we are all morally guilty of murder and need to ask God’s forgiveness. We need to commit ourselves to the opposite of hatred and anger, to love and reconciliation. I John 3:15 says, whosoever hateth his brother is a murder: and you know that no murder hath eternal life abiding in him. We are not to envy anyone my friends, for anything. Not only can envy make us miserable, it can also lead us to other sins such as adultery and stealing. Envy is a useless emotion because God is able to provide everything we really need, even if He does not always give us everything we want. To drive out envy, we need to practice being content with what God has blessed us to have. Think About It My Friends, Think About It……
